Notice from Medford Water Commission

With the high winds our valley is currently experiencing, we want you to be aware that Medford Water Commission staff is preparing for the possibility of a power outage at the Robert A. Duff Water Treatment Plant. Even if the power was restored quickly and no repairs were necessary, such an outage would require extensive work to return the plant to fully operational status, and during this time the plant cannot supply treated water necessary to meet current demands.

If this were to happen, it would be necessary to immediately restrict all non-essential water uses, e.g., lawn irrigation and filling of pools or ponds, to preserve water for domestic use and fire emergencies. In addition to Medford water customers, such restrictions would also apply to properties within Central Point, Eagle Point, Phoenix, Talent, Jacksonville, and White City.

A more detailed list of restrictions and more information will be provided to the media and posted on our website in the event such an outage occurs.

If you have questions, please contact Water Meter & Controls Supervisor/Acting Manager Ken Johnson at (541) 774-2680 or (541) 660-9511.
