Nuisance Weed/Excessive Vegetation Abatement
Start making a plan to maintain weeds and brush through the summer and into the fall. The City’s ordinance for weeds and excessive vegetation requires all property owners within the City limits with property less than one acre to cut vegetation to less than 10 inches prior to June 1st. The vegetation must be maintained in this manner until October 1st or the end of fire season (whichever is later). Shrubs, trees, flowers, and vegetable gardens are excluded from the requirements.
If your property is greater than one acre in the City limits, a 15-foot fire break (30 feet from any structure, including a fence) is required. Along with mitigating the safety hazard that tall, dry weeds pose to the community, our weed abatement program helps maintain livability. We appreciate the property and business owners in our community who help make Eagle Point a great place to live.
