MWC Urgent Request: Voluntarily Reduce Water Usage

Reduce Water

Medford Water Commission (MWC) has made an urgent request that all of their customers voluntarily reduce water usage due to a nationwide shortage of water disinfectant. The City of Eagle Point buys all of water from Medford Water Commission (MWC). This means the City of Eagle Point water customers are impacted by this request.  In addition to the request for voluntary water usage reductions, MWC is making changes to their supply system to extend their supply of water disinfectant. This will result in an excess of air in the pipelines, causing water to appear cloudy. This cloudiness will dissipate over time, and is due to air bubbles and not poor water quality. This is a nationwide shortage so there will be announcements from State of Oregon as well. Additional information as well as suggestions for reducing water usage can be found at this link http://www.medfordwater.org/News.asp?NewsID=489..
