Public notice of city council elections: The City of Eagle Point is accepting candidacy filings for the elected offices of mayor and three council member positions through August 25, 2022. Interested persons should contact Cindy Hughes, City Recorder, at 541-826-4212 ext. 106.
Public notice of commission vacancies: The City of Eagle Point is accepting applications from persons interested in serving on the Neighborhood Enhancement Commission (1 vacancy) or Planning Commission (3 vacancies). Applicants must currently reside within the city limits of Eagle Point and have resided in the city for at least one full year. Additional details and applications are available online at www.cityofeaglepoint.org or may be picked up at Eagle Point City Hall, 17 Buchanan Avenue South, Eagle Point, Oregon.
The new Neighborhood Enhancement Commission acts as an advisory body to city staff and City Council on matters pertaining to developing and preserving aesthetic, recreational and cultural values to enhance quality of life in neighborhoods throughout the community. The commission also serves as the city’s parks and tree advisory committee, in addition to supporting an annual Arbor Day observance and complying with the standards of the Tree City USA program. The Planning Commission has special land-use authority under Oregon law to address land use matters, render judgment, and/or pass recommendations on certain matters to the City Council.
