The City’s sign regulations (Municipal Code, Chapter 17.68) provide parameters for types and sizes of signs allowed, and where they can be located. That includes a range of building-mounted and free-standing signs, as well as various incidental signs which afford businesses additional ways to communicate with customers. Those regulations also specify the types of signs and related items that are prohibited in order to protect the public safety, maintain the appearance of our town, and minimize clutter.
The photos below show examples of non-compliant signs and related advertising items that have been found in our community. Signs/items such as these are not allowed, and the City asks businesses not to use this type of advertising. City staff are available to aid businesses in identifying allowable methods for maximizing their visibility to customers, with the shared goal of their long term success here.
